Zenya Noodle Bar – Eastwood

IMG_2751

Zenya is a popular dining spot in Eastwood as it is one of the few places that serves Japanese cuisine in the area. I have dined at Zenya’s a number of times – and have personally seen the chef boiling a large pot of pork bones for its pork broth.

On weekdays, Zenya is met with workers on their lunch break and they serve lunch menus along with their all day menu. On this occasion, we ordered a set lunch box ($9.80) a Tokyo Cha-Shu Ramen ($14.80) and added an extra $3 for Takoyaki (deep-fried octopus balls) and a salad with Japanese dressing.

The set lunch box is a quite a bargain as it includes a bowl of miso soup; a salad with mouth-watering Japanese dressing; juicy terriyaki chicken on a bed of crispy noodles and a portion of white rice. It really does fill your stomach on a winter’s day.

I should also mention that if you join Zenya’s loyalty club (for free), you get free food – including a voucher for two scoops of green tea ice cream annually on your birthday!

Whilst Zenya does not offer the best ramen in Sydney, it is certainly my favourite around the Eastwood & surrounding areas.
Upon revisiting in March 2013, the food was no longer up to standards as the food ordered was oily and soggy. I personally will no longer recommend Zenya.
