My colleague Sal has been raving about ‘Hungry Mondays’ meals for a few months now, so last Friday we decided to place an order to have a few packs delivered to work on Monday.

Hungry Mondays began last year by chef Omar Andrade who was frustrated that he was only able to make money whilst the restaurant was open, so he came up with the brilliant idea to slow-cook food overnight and sell it to busy people the following day. Continue reading

Ichi-Ban Boshi – Sydney CBD

IMG_3263Ichi-Ban Boshi at The Galeries has been my favourite ramen spot in Sydney since they first opened when I was still studying. I have memories of having lunch with my Aunt here – we would arrive early to get a table and would always order ramen, udon and gyoza. This is also where Peter & I go to when we are in the city and want a cheap but good meal. Continue reading

Mamak – Chatswood

We were catching up with John (our pastor) & his lovely wife Jean after church when Jean asked us whether we wanted to go to Mamak for lunch. Whilst I was excited, I was also apprehensive about the queue. John & Jean assured us that the queue would be gone by late lunchtime- and they were right, although Mamak was still packed, we were immediately seated. Continue reading

AJ’s Indian Restaurant located in between Eastwood and North Ryde has won many local community dining & business awards over the years and hence it is a popular Indian dining spot in the area. Five Spices – Hunters Hill

Eleven of us celebrated Jason’s belated birthday at Five Spices over the weekend. We walked into what looked like a suburban home and were greeted by a friendly waitress who showed us our table in a private dining area.

Five Spices had a cozy homelike ambience, the decor was a mixture of old and new; including stone brick walls, various lighting features, paintings and a fireplace. Continue reading
